"The souls of all free men & women are innately noble"
some might say that you're born and sold down the river before birth...
> isn't that kind of the crux of the whole ongoing social movement, regardless of which cliche or how mystical or cynical they might be? i would think it is very factual to say that as citizens of this place (which country is effectively irrelevant) we often have much of our lives controlled in a preemptive way that in many cases amounts to varying degrees of slavery. i would also say it is very factual to say that no amount of brainwashing, economic control, or fear induced regulation is capable of forcibly removing the nobility of the human soul. history has proven that over and again, our lore is rich with the stories of men and women and sometimes entire countries rising up from the filth of a culture to claim their freedom. from the bible onward, i think.
RE: Yep that’s right, but as some go up others go down,, as a whole one could debate whether there’s any progress at all on the larger scale… true it is though that suppression isn’t as down right brutal as it might have been, but one could argue though that the element of suppression have been refined to such an immaculate state that most people aren’t aware that they’re suppressed (in which case, are you then suppressed
,,, also there has been a change in who’s doin’ the suppression,, once you had straight forward warlordism doin’ the brunt of the work, but know you have the suit n’tie criminals, doctors and socialworkers doin’ their bit too… A quote from one of my favorite authors from way back when I was a young anarcho-syndicalist punk sums up a lot of what was my original intention with what I wrote : “To be governed is to be watched over, inspected, spied on, directed, legislated at, regulated, docketed, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, assessed, weighed, censored, ordered about....To be governed means to be, at each transaction, at each movement, noted, registered, taxed, stamped, measured, evaluated, patented, licensed, authorized, endorsed, admonished, hampered, reformed, rebuked, arrested...held to ransom, exploited, monopolized, extorted, squeezed, hoaxed, robbed, and then at the least resistance,...to be repressed, fined, abused, annoyed, followed, bullied, beaten, disarmed, garroted, imprisoned, machine-gunned, judged, condemned, deported, flayed, sold, betrayed, and finally mocked, ridiculed, insulted and dishonored.” (Proudon) (gotta’ love the classics !
"Any person or program that opposes people because of
race, religion, creed, or socio-economic status is the
antithesis of respecting this fundamental dignity of each
individual"
so we're against the reptile brain?! or is it just fear in general?
> sarcasm? i can't tell, unless you're here to troll or just a reaaally odd person, since that the first statement is not only a self supporting logical axiom, it is also something very close to the core values we americans (apologies if i presume wrong about your citizenship) were raised on, as warped as the presentation often was, ergo pretty accepted truth. or do you have some ala satan point to argue about life feeding on life and the necessity of discrimination?
RE: HA HA
! I’m from Denmark (Copenhagen!) ,, I don’t find discrimination a necessity, but to most people and extents this fundamental dignity is only theoretical,, sad to say so…
"No person can be denied the elementary right to participate
fully in the solutions to their own problems: denial of the
opportunity for participation is the denial of human dignity"
that's very political,,, how dumb or otherwise ill do you have to be too loose that right?
> a lot of people have lost that right, just because you've been fortunate and persistent enough to know that you retain free will doesn't mean people that, as you say, were born into shit, are worthless because they haven't yet managed to overcome more challenges then most to reclaim their innate right of self destiny. maybe more importantly, if that is political, then it's the only really relevant politics. i mean, the defense of those right is only, oh, i don't know... the whole founding principles of this here america. not to mention countless other meaningful and sometimes profound movements and wars in the past. as fucked as this country is, there's a reason it was the shining start of the globe for a long time, with a lifespan of only a couple centuries. this country succeeded for the first time in a clear way in establishing a truly righteous government and culture, free for all people as people have dreamed and written about for thousands of years (well, ok there was the whole slave thing- i never said the got it prefect in round 1)
RE: I have a bit trouble understanding exactly would you mean but,,, I don’t think that anyone’s “worthless” ! My beef was mainly that I found the text a little too rigid, I mean, do you lose your human dignity if you can’t truly participate (if your severely handicapped/braindamaged/institutionalized/… Participating “fully” should be viewed, to some extent, relatively to ones capabilities… But then I guess this will then change this particular topic into a lengthy discussion on imposing Will upon others..?
